Menopause herbal supplements – which ones to try

 
There are a number of menopause herbal supplements available to women who suffer from some of the most common menopause symptoms such as hot flashes, anxiety, mood swings, night sweats, depression, muscle and joint pain and more.  Menopause herbal supplements that are most often talked about include black cohosh, dong quai, maca root and red clover.

Black cohosh has been used as menopause herbal supplements forever.  It is believed that the plant estrogens present in black cohosh work similarly to natural estrogen.  It is said to relieve vagina dryness, help to keep your body temperature stable as well as help to keep your bones strong.  It is a great option to help combat night sweats, hot flashes, depression and anxiety.

The maca root is another menopause herbal supplement to be considered.  It is believed to help keeping the body's hormones in balance which will in turn help with menopause symptoms.  Maca root is rich in calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron and vitamins B1, B2, B12, C and E.  It is used to help reduce hot flashes, vaginal dryness and is said to help increase the libido which often declines during menopause.
